SuperBeets Smoothie

Is there any better way to get through your day than to start with a smoothie in the morning? Especially if it happens to taste like a strawberry milkshake? We think not. And neither does FoodByMaria, who has created a vegan smoothie recipe using SuperBeets. This is a great breakfast smoothie option for you if you are looking for a delicious and nutritious way to stay energized, and fuel your body all day long.

 

INGREDIENTS

Smoothie: Base Layer

  • 1 cup frozen raspberries
  • 1 mango
  • 1 tsp honey
  • 1 tsp SuperBeets
  • Dash of coconut milk

Smoothie: Top Layer

  • ¼ of the above mixture
  • 1 cup blueberries
  • 1 tsp SuperBeets
  • Dash of Coconut milk
  • Topped with a piece of Dark Chocolate, and a strawberry (I found organic ones at a market)

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Into a blender, combine all the ingredients for the base layer.
  2. Blend till smooth and creamy, and add more coconut milk to reach your preferred consistency!
  3. Add ¾ of this mixture into a large glass or mug, trying to hit the edges to give the dripped effect (if your into pretty food pictures)
  4. Now add the ingredients for the top layer to the remaining ¼ smoothie mixture, and repeat the above instructions to reach your preferred consistency.
  5. Now add this mixture to the top of the other layer, top with chocolate and berries and enjoy!
  6. Dont forget to be creative, simply adding super foods and cacao can really amp the game, and keep you fuller, longer while on the go, or at the gym!
